With one game remaining, Chelsea and Crystal Palace are locked in a tight battle for 11th. Does this, should this, matter one whit? Probably not, but it does to me, for reasons incomprehensible. MU just demolished Chelsea 4-1. That single goal equalized the goal differential between CP and Chelsea, but CP remains one point ahead, 44 to 43. Why should I even care about such trivia, but I do. No one reasonable gives a hoot who is number 11 or number 12, do they?
I'm also happy that Palace has finished above Chelsea. It's not meaningless; that draw earned Palace an extra 2.2M pounds in EPL prize money.
