From ESPN:
Arsenal fans can celebrate the earliest 'St Totteringham's Day' in Premier League history after north London rivals Tottenham fell to another defeat on Sunday.
St Totteringham's Day is an unofficial celebration for Arsenal fans that marks the date on which the Gunners are mathematically guaranteed to finish higher in the table than Tottenham.
and the hapless Totts fell to CP 3-1 in their last outing, in a match in which CP outperformed them in the first, and relaxed in the 2nd half - can so much talent get relegated, if they try hard enough to be inept?
ReplyDeleteSpurs have been hit hard by injury, but they compound that with poor discipline (Romero is particularly bad here). They have regular brain farts. Their goalkeeper is not very good. Thomas Frank is a good manager who got decent results at a well-run club, but he could do nothing with those guys. They fired him and hired a guy on a temporary basis (who listens to the substitute teacher?) who never coached in the Premier league. He's the first Spurs manager to have lost his first three games. His post-game comments were amazingly clueless. The fans are already screaming for him to be sacked.
ReplyDeletePalace looked pretty good yesterday, I thought. (I just had to watch.) Strand Larsen seems a good fit. At the rate you guys keep selling your best players, I think it's going to cause problems when Glassner leaves. I just hope he's too smart to go to Tottenham!
