Joy in Spudville

Wolves, Man U, and Arsenal all lost, while Tottenham crushed Villa 4-0, a team that Arsenal squeaked by 1-0 when we were healthy.  Conte has apparently fixed what was wrong with the inconsistent Spuds and I will be very surprised if they don't get a Champions' League spot.  Arsenal was in the driver's seat, but that was before Tierney and Partey picked up serious injuries.  Tomiyasu has been out for a while at RB, and now our starting LB is out for the season.  Partey is irreplaceable in the center of our midfield.  We have a non-scoring center forward.  Arteta has no answers.  Every team wants to play us now.  I would be happy to make Europa League.  That's where I was when the season started.  The Gunners are not a Champions' League squad.

OK, the season has a way to go yet, and there could be twists and turns.  But I do not see Arsenal or Man U beating Tottenham now, and both absolutely have to do just that to have a chance at 4th place.

  1. Arsenal does seem to have lost its shine. Just a few weeks ago they looked a lot more formidable. With only eight games to go, and Tottenham playing well, time might be running out on the Gunners, but there is still hope that the Totts might stumble.
